* T. M; V: `, s7 k3 S7 G; N1943年10月2日凌晨,盟军庞大的炮击舰队在海面上四面八方将马绍尔的日军最后一个据点——Ailinglaplap环礁团团围住,展开了猛烈的炮击,随后美国陆军精锐骑兵一师在日军防线背侧顺利登陆,同岛上的陆军七师和陆战一师里应外合,一举攻陷了被盟军称为“伤心岛”的马绍尔群岛最大的环礁。

岛上以42师团及57th旅团为主力的日寇3w余人在禁受了一个多月盟军的饱和轰炸后,早已弹尽粮绝日军马乏,战斗力从最初的600多一路下降到总攻前的220。+ ^# @8 s. t+ ]5 i5 F

盟军历尽两次兼顾卓绝的攻坚伤亡上万,最终夺取了这个马绍尔群岛唯一的5级机场,歼灭了盘踞在岛上的30,000多日寇,为历次作战歼敌数量之首。

至此,从43年4月中旬开始发动的吉尔伯特-马绍尔战役圆满拉下帷幕,盟军一路马不停蹄攻占了包括威克岛和瑙鲁岛在内的日军重兵把守的8个环礁,歼敌总数超过6w。当然盟军也付出了沉重的代价,在Ailinglaplap和威克岛的血战导致陆战一师和陆战三师各减员过半,短时间内失去了继续作战的能力,盟军的陆军,船只和飞机全部需要修整,为下一阶段的攻略任务做好准备。2 T) O% t; b3 N$ z/ d( v* }$ _* @
