吕号作战Part2:奥西追击战,老天再次保佑盟军

潜艇部队虽然没有拦截到TF58,但在达尔文附近击沉TK多艘,因此日军猜测TF58的加油计划未能完成,极有可能去澳西的帕斯港口继续加油。此时日军的KB距离58约25格左右,因为有AO伴随,因此决定加油后油船返回,KB则继续追击,突入奥西海域。* g7 k- f8 x$ \- J; \/ H |. H
2 d0 ^- L! o; p' ?! t一路上日军使用很多AKL作为侦查舰,一路密切跟踪TF58的位置。相对的,盟军虽然知道KB在奥北,但并没有在澳洲西北部的诸多港口布置水上飞机侦查,根据日军掌握的情况,最后一次KB被发现是在12月29日达尔文以西10格左右,应该是被泗水的侦察机看到了。此后KB静默航行,直到42年1月1日,发起突袭的前一天,KB依然没有被发现,此时KB距离帕斯港口仅仅14格。

42年1月2日,KB到达了预定海域:距离帕斯6格的伏击地点。今天天气整体不错,仅有部分地区有小雨。随后侦察机发来报告:发现大量盟军舰队,包括TF58、大量油船、以及其它辅助船只。% L |% G5 z/ j! }: N/ }9 H
其中TF58距离KB仅3格,可谓天赐良机!可惜南云忠一果然不给力,居然没有攻击58,而是选择了TK、DD等作为目标!
