西蒙大将的大小KB都在印度洋巡游，所以TF58才会毫无顾忌在NG活动。另外，霍恩岛附近并没有适合陆攻出击的机场，至于SS，盟军的TF58在NG的时候就已经可以在SS大阵中进出自如而毫发无伤了。

西蒙大将在拉包尔是有个航空群啊，一直很活跃的压制莫港机场。直到TF58到来以后，炮击了布纳机场，并掩护了莫港海域，阻止了西蒙大将从拉包尔炮击莫港的战术，此后莫港才逐渐重新掌控了制空权。
  r4 r$ w/ c8 y( e- j! r0 F此外这次驻岛舰队炮击霍恩岛，地点距离拉包尔也实在太远了点，鞭长莫及啊。
