不过盟军的P47D25显然没有在凯瑟琳占到任何便宜,驻守此地的大概也是日军的精锐中的精锐还乡团,雷电陷入苦战,付出重大损失后突破了日军的防线,后续跟进的4发不负重望,彻底摧毁了该机场,同时击毁了机场上大约350架以上的日军轰炸机和运输机。空战中大约有110架盟军战斗机被击落,日军大概损失了140架,盟军阵亡+失踪了50多名精锐飞行员,日军阵亡了40多飞行员,空战的结果可谓日军大胜。% H5 k- j) [+ R" ?! K& f
