这次硫磺岛作战的目的是一分为二的:

1. 硫磺岛为战略要地,但是周围没有大型日军机场支撑,是天然的航母决战场所,盟军的主要目的为试探日军的防御底线和策略,看天蝗有没有决心为了保卫硫磺岛投入整个联合舰队与盟军决战。盟军早在1个月前就知道联合舰队的主力在太平洋,仍然选择出击硫磺岛,就是为此。测试的结果是天蝗不愿意冒险在没有陆基合击的情况下投入kb,即使为了硫磺岛这种距离东京仅仅1000海里的战略要地。加入日军有决心决战,盟军愿意在这个地方哪怕付出重大代价也要重创kb,为45年的大规模反击打好基础。( u4 J& Q! S; Y# n! D' Z  c6 B# R

2 x! {3 c  W( ~6 H0 G$ G; L2. 如果日军不愿意决战,盟军从容登陆硫磺岛,按照盟军的情报,硫磺岛并没有特别加固,从上岛后工事只有5级可以看出,而且直到盟军舰队从PH启航前,硫磺岛都只有1个师团左右的日军,其他的部队是盟军启航后,中途被日军发现后紧急增援的,按照大统领以往的环礁作战经验,这次登陆战是准备充分且有把握的。实际的战斗也证明了这一点,舰队炮击,轰炸,以及上岸的滩头炮击,都充分的杀伤了日军,杀伤力度也是历次登陆最大的一次,如果是一般的环礁,日军防御早已崩溃,盟军可以轻松破防。7 W% A, T5 b8 r1 z
不过知天易,逆天难,硫磺岛这个历史战场,大统领明显感觉到盟军有一个隐藏的属性,会在登陆首日遭遇重大伤亡,战斗值调整极其难看,官网的各种战报,还有和天蝗实验性的跑档更为凄惨的结果都可以支持这个想法。; Y0 M& U9 w; S) V( N. s

0 f! s, b0 T6 F; S6 h' r8 ]8 d* e所以总结这次硫磺岛作战,盟军以倾国之力未能拿下一个小小的岛屿,反而损兵折将2万多,陆战一师,骑兵一师这类盟军王牌部队折戟沉沙,损失不可谓不大,但并非不可接受。这次作战表明驻军上限3w的环礁/岛屿,如果日军善加经营,盟军攻击的难度会相当之大,在太平洋上盟军势如破竹的攻势将在小笠原群岛附近画上休止符。在没有拿下马里亚纳的情况下,硫磺岛->冲绳这条冲击日本本土的最短航线并不可行。希望AE的后人能引以为戒。
