双方战斗机在天空大打出手,日军轰炸机部队乘机突入港口,对Gove港口进行了轰炸,虽然在战斗的后半段被盟军战斗机发现并截击,损失了一些飞机,但大部分轰炸机还是成功地完成了轰炸任务并安全撤退,由于被轰炸机群吸引,盟军的战斗机部队在最后也遭到了最后一个到场的紫电改机队的迎头痛击,分散追击中的盟军战斗机被击落相当数量,是当天盟军损失的主要来源。' f- Y% w7 Y* N' p. }1 r6 Q

以我看,也不仅仅是进场时机的问题,显然,有很多进场晚,照样被暴打的例子,仔细看看战报,我估计还是高度的关系
6月28日,帝国航空兵继续进行Gove上空的航空绞杀战,全天共击落击毁盟军50多架战斗机,其中40多架是P47D2,其余是喷火8;帝国也付出了疾风丙,紫电改1,紫电改5各十多架的代价。轰炸机群得到战斗机部队的有力支援,无损突防,继续对Gove岛港口进行压制,阻止盟军工兵部队修筑机场,但根据侦查得知,当天盟军运输船队冒着枪林弹雨强行靠岸,将数千工兵和工程器械卸载在Gove港,帝国的压制行动面临更大困难。

值得指出的一点是,日军现在仅仅在各个前线cap的战斗机,已知的编制已经超过3500架,后方未知的训练编队编制不明,即使是最保守估计日军的战斗机编制也已经在5000架以上;于此同时盟军除去毛子的1000多架战斗机,整个陆基战斗机的编制尚不到3500架,精锐战机不过区区500架。+ d' F. A2 y! w! C3 B
