8月18日-8月24日，日本随着kb的到来，开始了进攻莫港的大规模军事行动。各基地的海岸警卫队早已上船在拉包尔整装待发，一路上，虽然遭遇了盟军ss多次BT的袭击，但是大部队还是安全顺利的在莫港登陆，经过了另人难以忍受的抢滩登陆并付出巨大的损失后。莫港军力190：94。与此同时，布纳的HQ也翻山岳岭，向莫港袭来。0 h. D+ c" m" b8 K" Y
10+ss撒下了一张大网，就等候58舰队的到来了。
果然，在8月24日，发现58舰队字瓜岛方向驶来，雨季到达地点米龙湾附近。kb迅速决定，打一场远程突袭，利用0战和97舰攻航程上的优势，9格距离突袭。但是结果却另人大跌眼睛，简直就是马里亚纳的翻版。8月25日全天日本被击落飞机70余架，只有一架舰攻突破防御，冒着枪林弹雨，进入发射通道。正当进入鱼雷射程时，北卡的一枚炮弹迎面砸中了这架飞机，化作一朵亮丽的演化。于是全天战果：ZERO!!!
此时日本编队面临严峻形式，0战大量损耗，已经不可能完成对CV的直掩任务，既然掩护不了，那么就同归于尽吧。于是70架0战掩护着60架轰炸机于8月26日再次向58发起了决死突击。58舰队也派出了全部的轰炸机向kb袭来。
